Cactus flowers are always beautiful and often shiny. I love them but could never have cactus here, inside I would worry about Lola, outside I would worry about elderly people falling into them.
We lived in a German hiring when Barry was posted to Germany and I put the huge cactus away immediately. Small children and thousands of spines do not go well together.
What pretty little flowers. Every time I see a cactus it takes me back to my grandmother's kitchen. She had a table that was full of little cactus in pots.
Hi Janice - they are amazing at how they continue to please us ... but as you say spines and small children (or anyone actually!) don't mix - but they please so much - cheers Hilary
I had a similar cactus when I was a teenager. It only ever flowered once, but wow, what a flower it was. You must have been excited to see the bloom.
ReplyDeleteI'm always delighted to see anything flourish under my care . . .

DeleteI love cactus plants. They have such exotic flowers.

ReplyDeleteIt's rather special, isn't it?
DeleteI am starting to put more lively plants and flowers inside the house these days. It feels better with life energy
ReplyDeleteI love to have plants around the house.
DeleteI have a similar one but no sign of a flower.
ReplyDeleteIt's a matter of luck whether or not they flower, I think.
DeleteWe look after the spiky little things, avoiding their spikes and then, boom they flower and all is forgiven.
ReplyDeleteThey're worth waiting for.
